Understanding how people engage, participate and thrive

I am Dr Kandianos Emmanouil Sakalidis, an interdisciplinary researcher working across inclusive physical activity and social care.

My research examines how social environments, relationships and everyday settings shape health behaviours, participation and inclusion across the lifespan. I am particularly interested in how supportive interactions and inclusive practices can enable social inclusion, meaningful engagement, autonomy and wellbeing, especially for people with cognitive impairments.
