I am a researcher working across psychology, inclusive physical activity, dementia and social care. My work examines how social and physical environments can support meaningful engagement, participation, inclusion and wellbeing.
My research has focused particularly on meaningful engagement and non-verbal interaction among people living with advanced dementia, as well as inclusive sport and physical activity for people with intellectual disabilities. I am also interested in assistive technology, accessible transport, employment-related skills and co-produced research.
I have experience using qualitative, quantitative and observational research methods, including thematic analysis, video-based behavioural coding, survey research, Q methodology and co-production workshops.
My work is grounded in close collaboration with people with lived experience, family members, practitioners, care organisations, charities and international research partners.
